Smoking at a Group Event.
Hey Group, we have several members that can't come to a group event due to the smoking because of asthma, etc. So we would like to hear how the group feels about smoking at a group event pros and cons. Now we are not talking about an event at a public bar but at a private group event.
1. Would you be offended if you are a smoker and was asked to smoke outside the building, so the non smokers with health problems could come to the group event?
2. If you are a non smoker would you be offended to ask that the smokers have to go outside the building to smoke?

Smoking outside of the room would be nice but we also try to be tolerable of smokers needs. | ||

In my opinion as a smoker, it should be the same as respecting any other rules of the host. It definitely would not offend me in any way to smoke outside. Just be clear in communication before the party starts. Besides, I don't even smoke inside my own house, so I never expect that anywhere else. As with anything else involving this lifestyle, it is all about respect, period.

Hey think it's a great idea for us smokers to go outside, even I have a hard time breathing after being in a smoky bar all night. Heck I don't even smoke in my house so no problem going outside for me. Thanks for thinking about both sides | ||

It depends on the location. If there is no smoke buildup and it is not bothering anyone; I will smoke inside with the rest of the smokers. Usually; though, there is too much smoke and I will go outside. It is my bad habit; not others. I do get a smoking room for playing; but,keep the smoking close to an exhaust fan if there is one or refrain from smoking if it bothers anyone. Who couldn't wait a while for a smoke when playing with all these sexy people???? T(bigdog) | ||

We are smokers but will follow the party rules. Better to smoke outside so all members can have a good time. | ||

My husband smokes and I quit a year ago so I can relate to both sides. All of the people I know who smoke are very respectful of the non smokers and would be ok with stepping outside to smoke. | ||

I agree with all of the above, and greatly appreciate those smokers who understand that is is THEIR choice to smoke, not ours. There are alot in other cases who just don't seem to get it! I used to smoke and so now the smell really really bothers me. I love coming to party's , hate the fact that the first thing I have to do when I leave is shower and wash ALL of our clothing, including coats. It'd be soooo nice to come to group events where smoking was not permitted inside. The one M and G we went to with another group that was held in a non smoking location was very enjoyable! Just my 2 cents worth, hope it doesn't tick anyone off! Melissa | ||

i think u may offend someone no mattr what u do...i like the way u seperate it at the peppertree...2 rooms with one for each...i think that accomodates evryone...if someone has a problem with that, then they have the problem, not the group...laina n rich | ||

I agree we do need to respect everyone being a smoker i do think it is asking a bit much for us to stand out side though. I agree with the haveing a room, How ever those that are heavy smokers will always be in the room and not ivolved in the shows, it is a tough call and hard to be fair to every body. I think no matter what we do we will lose party goers. clean fun means hot tub sex!!! | ||

The only reason there is smoking at most of our group events is the place we rent, they give the group a lot of leway, but they are talking about not letting us do that anymore, If the state of Idaho gets their way there wont be smoking even in the bars in this state. So for the most part, as we the mods take it, that most of the group dont mind steeping out side to smoke? We will keep the group Posted on what we decide before the event, thanks for your comments,its helped us out,
